This Episode’s Topic: Top 5 Podcasters
To better understand why this topic matters, I share how listening to podcasters has personally shaped my comeback after being fired from my dream job. Here are my Top 5 Podcasters and Podcast:
Number 1: Michael Hyatt – This Is Your Life. His motto — Win at work. Succeed at Life.
You can follow him at michaelhyatt.com. What I love most – just how generous he is with knowledge. He gives away far more than he ever sells.
Number 2: Cliff Ravenscraft – Podcast Answerman. His motto — Taking your business, your life to the Next level
You can follow him at podcastanswerman.com. He inspired me to take podcasting and my health very seriously. The strength of Cliff is his brute honesty. He gives such an honest window into his life — a rarity in this world. I’m frankly glad to here his refreshing outlook on life.
Number 3: Brett McKay – The Art of Manliness. His motto — To help men become better men.
You can follow him at artofmanliness.com. I came across this podcast after reading Mansfield Book of Manly Men. McKay is a world class podcaster. He talks about everything from strength training to men and the church, strategy, and why football matters. He is no meathead. Instead, he is a class act and worth listening too.
Number 4: Thom Rainer – Rainer on Leadership. His motto — Your online home for leadership lessons for the local church
You can follow him at thomrainer.com. This podcast is essential for me as a pastor. What I love about this guy is his practical, everyday approaches to leading the church. He is my go-to resource to help me learn how to lead my church better.
Number 5: Ray Edwards – The Ray Edwards Show. His motto — How to Start, Run, and Grow Your Online Business
You can follow him at rayedwards.com. Ray taught me the importance of communicating clearly.
His specialty is copywriting, and as a pastor, I’ve learned that writing so people can understand is critical. He gives practical marketing research tips and talks about how to incorporate these fundamentals into a good communication plan.
Show Segments
Theology On The Street – Gratitude
Crafting gratitude is critical to good theology. So in this segment, I discuss Psalm 138 and look at how God’s character shapes his loyalty to us.
Smitty’s Tip of the Week – Journaling
I’ve always journaled. Ever since 2000, I’ve been keeping a regular account of my life. The benefits now are incredible. I can look back and clearly see how God has been shaping my life. I suggest you start journaling today by creating an inventory of the things God has done in your life.
