Dr. Jonathan G. Smith is a pastor, teacher, theologian, writer, and Christian leader. He serves as President of Logos Global Network, Aidan University, and Reach Global Mission. Through these organizations, he trains Christian leaders, expands access to theological education, and supports mission work around the world. He also serves as a missionary bishop, offering spiritual and pastoral guidance to the churches, ministries, and leaders under his care.
Jonathan has earned two doctoral degrees. In 2015, he completed a Doctor of Ministry in Pastoral Ministry. In 2025, he completed a Doctor of Philosophy in Christian Ethics. These degrees reflect two important parts of his calling: caring for the Church and applying Christian truth to the difficult questions facing society today.
Jonathan’s ministry is rooted in his lifelong relationship with Jesus Christ. He became a follower of Jesus at the age of seven and sensed a call to ministry while still a child. Although that calling eventually shaped the direction of his life, his professional journey first led him into the corporate world.
Jonathan met his wife, Ivey, while they were in college, and they married shortly after graduation. He began his career in pharmaceutical sales with Merck & Co. During his eight years with the company, he advanced through the sales ranks and earned a business degree in management and finance. He also developed a strong interest in helping people and organizations grow—an interest that continues to shape his leadership today.
Throughout these years, Jonathan and Ivey continued to consider his call to full-time ministry. In 2008, shortly before the economic recession, he left his corporate career and entered graduate school for formal theological training. After completing his first graduate degree, he was invited to serve as the founding Dean of Distance Education at Knox Theological Seminary in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. In this role, he helped develop the seminary’s online education programs while continuing his own advanced studies.
Jonathan’s calling soon grew beyond academic leadership and into pastoral ministry. He was ordained as an Anglican minister in 2011 and has devoted himself to the work of the gospel ever since. In 2013, he became the pastor of Trinity Anglican Church in Orlando. He later served as pastor of Redeemer Church in Casselberry, Florida. In 2015, he earned his Doctor of Ministry in Pastoral Ministry, combining advanced theological study with the practical work of caring for God’s people.
In 2025, Jonathan earned his Ph.D. in Christian Ethics from Aidan University. His research examined how Christian faith and scientific knowledge relate to questions of human sexuality and identity.
At the center of Jonathan’s ministry is the belief that the gospel calls people everywhere to follow King Jesus faithfully. This belief has led him to launch and support mission efforts across three continents. Whether he is leading organizations, strengthening churches, training leaders, or supporting global missions, Jonathan is committed to helping others serve Christ and take part in His work throughout the world.
