Cliff Ravenscraft suggests that most people have limiting beliefs that keep them from moving forward in their dreams. He suggests removing the limiting beliefs and replacing them with “empowering beliefs.”

Here are Cliff’s Four Limiting Beliefs.

Limiting belief #1: I don’t have the money I need.

Empowering belief: I always have plenty of money for everything I truly want.

Psalm 50:10 (ESV) – For every beast of the forest is mine, the cattle on a thousand hills.

Limiting belief #2: Money is evil.

Empowering belief: Money is awesome.

Romans 8:38–39 – For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

John 10:10 – The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.

Limiting belief #3 – Building wealth is wrong.

Empowering belief: Building wealth is a worthy pursuit.

Genesis 1:28 – And God blessed them. And God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”

Deuteronomy 8:17–18 – Beware lest you say in your heart, ‘My power and the might of my hand have gotten me this wealth.’ You shall remember the LORD your God, for it is he who gives you power to get wealth, that he may confirm his covenant that he swore to your fathers, as it is this day.

1 Timothy 6:17–18 – As for the rich in this present age, charge them not to be haughty, nor to set their hopes on the uncertainty of riches, but on God, who richly provides us with everything to enjoy. They are to do good, to be rich in good works, to be generous and ready to share,

Limiting belief #4: Putting myself first is wrong.

Empowering belief: Loving others requires me to love myself

Matthew 22:34–39 – But when the Pharisees heard that he had silenced the Sadducees, they gathered together. And one of them, a lawyer, asked him a question to test him. “Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?” And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. Romans 8:1 – There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.
