This message introduces a new series by Pastor Jonathan, “God’s Passion For People.” What brings glory to God? The answer is a person’s relationship with the Lord. This message kicks off a Lenten focus designed to bring the Christian in a closer relationship with Him. By looking at the story of Genesis 1, Pastor Jonathan teaches that the surprising jewel of Genesis 1 is the discovery that “God actually likes us!’
Sometimes it’s easy as Christians to lose sight of this truth, particularly during the Lenten season. Focusing on our wrongdoings is a healthy part of Christian growth but sometimes can become an end in itself. To correct this skewed view of ourselves, we should always keep in mind the beginning of the message of the Bible — God really does like us!
