When you hear the word “trials” what exactly goes through your mind? Sometimes when we think of the word trial we automatically think in legal terms. But this word in scripture is often used to express the difficulties in life. The hard part about scripture’s teaching on this theme comes from recognizing that God designs them for our well-being.
So in this episode of Faith In The City, Dr. Jonathan continues looking at James 1:2-3 to discover what exactly is accomplished by these trials. What you will discover as he concludes, that trials are to our benefit.

Key Notes to Remember
When you are facing a difficult situation or problem life, stop and ask yourself a couple of questions:
#1 Is what I’m facing something that came into my life from outside myself or did I contribute to this situation through some sin I committed?
If the problem is an external pressure, then you can be assured that you very well may be facing a trial designed to test your faith. If however you deduce that the problem is directly related to a sin, you may have committed, then you need first to deal with that situation.
#2 Is what I’m facing right now going to pass?
Many times Life’s trials are temporary. Even though at times they seem overwhelming, keep in mind a little phrase “This TOO Shall pass.”
