Return to the Garden – A Fresh Start
Sermon Date: 8-10-2025
By Rev. Dr. Jonathan G. Smith
Some gardens grow wild, bursting with beauty and life. Others grow overrun, tangled, and weary from neglect. Spiritually speaking, we all have a garden—a place in our soul where God plants His Word and intends for it to flourish. But life has a way of drying the soil, crowding it with weeds, and leaving the fruit small or absent.
In this sermon, Return to the Garden: A Fresh Start, Dr. Jonathan G. Smith takes us back to Jesus’ teaching in John 15:1–8 to remind us that fruit-bearing isn’t just a nice addition to the Christian life—it’s the evidence that we truly belong to Him. Drawing on the imagery of vineyards, pruning shears, and flourishing trees, Dr. Smith shows us the four essential steps to cultivate a fruitful life: Belong, Embrace, Abide, and Reflect.
If you’ve been feeling spiritually dry or disconnected, this message is your invitation to let the Master Gardener restore your soul—and to see your life once again overflowing with His fruit.
