Dr. Jonathan G. Smith is a pastor, teacher, theologian, and writer. A follower of Jesus since the age of seven, he has been walking with Him ever since.
Jonathan met his wife, Ivey, while in college, and shortly after graduating they were married. He began his professional journey in the corporate world, landing a sales position with the pharmaceutical giant Merck & Co. Over the next eight years, he advanced through the sales ranks, earned his business degree in management and finance, and developed a lasting passion for human and organizational development.
Yet since childhood, Jonathan had sensed a clear call to Christian ministry—a call he and Ivey wrestled with early in their marriage. In 2008, just before the economic recession, he left his corporate career to pursue that calling and entered graduate school for formal theological training. After completing his first graduate degree, he was invited to serve as the founding Dean of Distance Education at Knox Theological Seminary in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where he helped pioneer the seminary’s online learning initiatives while pursuing advanced theological studies leading to his first doctorate.
During this season, Jonathan’s call deepened from academic leadership to pastoral ministry. In 2011, he was ordained as an Anglican minister and has since devoted himself fully to the work of the gospel. In 2013, he accepted the call to serve as pastor of Trinity Anglican Church of Orlando, and later became the pastor of Redeemer Church in Casselberry, Florida.
In 2025, Jonathan earned his Ph.D. in Christian Ethics from Aidan University, where his research explored the intersection of faith and science concerning human sexuality and identity.
Rooted in the conviction that the gospel calls the world to faithful allegiance to King Jesus, Jonathan has launched several missionary initiatives across three continents. Today, he continues to minister weekly at Redeemer Church while also serving as President of Aidan University and providing leadership to the Logos Global Network and Reach Global Missions.
