Verse of the Week | Genesis 1:2-4

Here is this week’s verse of the week: Genesis 1:2-4

This weekend, my family and I are heading off to vacation at Sanibel Island.  I’m super excited to be with them. Sanibel Island is the place where so many of my major decisions have taken place.  I’m not sure if it’s the salt air or the relaxation but it does my soul so much good. Perhaps the beach is a reminder of the story of God separating the water from the dry ground. For me, the beach is my favorite spot to reflect on the goodness and majesty of God.

The earth was without form and void, and darkness was over the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. And God saw that the light was good. And God separated the light from the darkness.” (Genesis 1:2–4, ESV)
