Why Do I Believe in God? An Answer to Atheism | GOF50

Atheism and Theism have one single thing in common. Faith. That is an established fact. Why? Because like people of faith, it takes just as much faith to believe the dogma “there is no God.”  So what distinguishes the two faith systems from each other? Well, in this episode I argue that art, beauty, and love are impossible ideas in a world without purpose or meaning.

This Episode’s Topic: Atheism and Beauty

To better understand why this issue matters, I share my arguments against atheism as it relates to the transcendent issues of art, beauty, and love. How can we say something is truly ‘beautiful’ if the idea of beauty is not real? In the feature presentation, I share a sermon I preached about beauty and how it points to an intentional design within nature itself.

Theology On The Street: My Beef with Greta Christina

In this section, I respond to two of the ten reasons listed by Atheist Apologist Greta Kristina as a reason “NOT” to believe in God. You can read all 10 of her reasons here. I must confess to being despondent in this episode, but admittedly I wasn’t feeling very well. I recognize that there are sincere people who are searching for real answers to challenging problems. My frustration rests in the “militancy” and “dismissive tone” of some Atheist Apologists. Of course, I also have to admit that Christian Apologists (like myself) often take the same tone. I guess there is more than one thing we have in common.
